Another dessert for breakfast oatmeal? Yes, we can't get enough. This time I tried a healthier version of apple pie! This is a tasty breakfast that combines the delicious flavors of apple pie and Pinole Chia Oatmeal! It is high in fiber, protein, healthy and so delicious! Try it out!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Pinole Chia Oatmeal Original
- 1/2 cup milk (We used flax milk)
- 1/2 ripe banana
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 apple
- 1/2 tbsp butter
- More cinnamon
- Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- Pecans
Instructions
- Blend together Pinole Chia Oatmeal, milk, banana, protein powder, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla extract
- Chop up half of an apple into small chunks and sauté in a pan over medium heat with your butter, lots of cinnamon and 1/4 cup water for about 15 minutes until tender.
- Pour the oat batter into a greased ramekin and mix the rest of the apple in the batter and on top.
- Next, top with chopped Pecans and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon!
- Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 18 minutes and enjoy these warm apple pie baked oats!
